Kunsthalle Bern is a space where conversations unfold between artists and audiences, between local and global voices. Your membership directly supports the creation of new artworks commissioned for our space, and helps us present artists and cultural workers from Bern, Switzerland, and around the world. In doing so, you contribute to an institution that has long been at the forefront of contemporary art.
Members enjoy early and close access to art experiences throughout the year. Each year you’ll receive a uniquely designed membership card by a Bern-based artist, giving you free admission to Kunsthalle Bern and twenty-three partner institutions across Switzerland. You’ll also receive early access to our public program, priority invitations to special events, and an evening dedicated exclusively to our members.

Donor Circles
Bernische Kunstgesellschaft
Die Bernische Kunstgesellschaft fördert das Verständnis für die zeitgenössische Kunst und unterstützt insbesondere junge Kunstschaffende, das Kunstmuseum Bern, das Zentrum Paul Klee und die Kunsthalle Bern. Die Bernische Kunstgesellschaft veranstaltet Führungen in Ausstellungen, Besichtigungen von Kunstwerken im In- und Ausland, Atelierbesuche und organisiert Vorträge. Jährlich vergibt sie mit dem Louise Aeschlimann und Margareta Corti-Stipendium den höchstdotierten privaten Kunstpreis im Kanton Bern.
Berner Kunstfonds
Der Berner Kunstfonds wurde 1993 durch den Verein der Freunde Kunstmuseum Bern, den Verein Kunsthalle Bern und die Bernische Kunstgesellschaft gegründet, um die Beziehung zu privaten Gönner:innen gemeinsam zu intensivieren und zu koordinieren. Das Kunstmuseum Bern und die Kunsthalle Bern sind für einen attraktiven Kunst- und Ausstellungsbetrieb auf die zusätzliche finanzielle Unterstützung privater Kreise angewiesen.
Stiftung Kunsthalle Bern
Die Stiftung Kunsthalle Bern kauft Werke von Künstler:innen an, die in der Kunsthalle ausgestellt wurden (ausserhalb der Cantonale Berne Jura). Die Werke werden primär dem Kunstmuseum Bern als Leihgabe für öffentliche Ausstellungen zur Verfügung gestellt. Ziel ist es, kontinuierlich eine bedeutende Sammlung von Gegenwartskunst aufzubauen. Dabei arbeitet die Stiftung Kunsthalle Bern Hand in Hand mit der Kunsthalle und dem Kunstmuseum.

Tax Effective Giving: USA
In order for your contribution to be tax-deductible in the US, may we suggest your donation is made to Kunsthalle Bern through the Charities Aid Foundation America (CAF America), which is registered in the US as a 501c3 tax-exempt charitable organization that helps collect donations for foreign nonprofit institutions, like Kunsthalle Bern. CAF America takes a small administrative fee from the donation before forwarding it to Kunsthalle Bern were, in turn, your contribution will help support the project of your choice. All memberships are valid until December 31st of the current calendar year. Without prior notice by phone or email, memberships are automatically renewed for the following calendar year.
